Semita application Chain is a framework of the toolset for building and maintaining public and permissioned EVM-compatible chains. In other words, it's an infrastructure to help developers and blockchain users to build and run their own blockchains as their internal value system and for a massive number of users while still maintaining a close connection with public chains like Ethereum.

Application chain is very useful for enterprise users to build and run their own blockchains to have flexibility and sovereignty while utilizing the blockchain immutability, and traceability to solve their business problems. NodeReal aims to provide a one-stop solution for customers by design, implementation, customization, and maintenance of application chains.

In a traditional centralized application, the application's code and data are stored on a centralized server or data center, and users interact with the application through a client interface such as a web browser or mobile app. In contrast, on an application chain, the application's code and data are stored on a decentralized network of nodes, and users interact with the application through a distributed client interface that connects to the network.

Application chains matter for Web3, which refers to the next generation of the internet that is being built on decentralized and trustless technologies such as blockchain. In a Web3 environment, users have more control over their data and can interact with applications without the need for intermediaries such as centralized servers or corporations.

By enabling developers to create and deploy dApps on a blockchain-based application platform, application chains provide a way for users to access decentralized applications in a Web3 environment. This allows for greater privacy, security, and transparency, and can help to reduce the power of centralized entities that currently control much of the internet.

Application chain validators could be a public or permissioned(private) network. For enterprise users, data security and compliance requirements are considered in the design of the NodeReal application chain. The application chain validators can be run by the application owners or any permissioned stakeholders, bringing more flexibility and decentralization to the application chain ecosystem.
The application chain of NodeReal is 100% EVM compatible, which means customers and developers can simply reuse their development toolset of Ethereum, and migrate their applications to the application chain with very little effort. Application chains can provide the following benefits to users.

  • Accountability and Reliable: Every node in the network contains all the transaction history. Any stakeholders with permission will be able to query the data on the chain.

  • Permissioned: The application chain is only accessible to authorized users. Permitting users to use the network is at the discretion of the network owner(s).

  • Flexibility: Different from public chains, application chains are highly customizable and scalable, which is a must for enterprise applications.

  • Native Token: Support native token, and customizable token flow design according to the token economy.

  • Privacy Transactions: Support private transactions, which are transactions where some information about the transaction, such as the payload data, or the sender or the recipient, is only available to the subset of parties privy to that transaction.
