Billing terms and monthly CU

Monthly billing follows calendar months. If you start a monthly subscription partway through a month, the first charge is prorated for the remaining days. Subsequent full months are charged at the full monthly price.

Monthly CU resets on the first day of each month. A CU reset is separate from a subscription payment: semi-annual and annual customers are not charged another subscription fee each month. Checkout shows the amount due, any initial proration and the next renewal date for the selected term.

Plan changes

Review the new configuration, any amount due and the effective date shown in Billing before confirming an upgrade or downgrade. Enterprise uses the same billing and proration rules as the existing plans.

An upgrade that requires payment takes effect after payment and activation succeed. A failed upgrade does not grant the upgraded configuration. Once a Base CUPS change takes effect, existing Burst increments add to the new base on their selected keys for the original reserved windows.

If a change between Standard and Enterprise takes effect while CU Auto Scaling is on, it is turned off. Review the new pack size and price in Account before enabling it again.

Failed renewal payments

The existing subscription retry period also applies to Enterprise. The current schedule is:

EventWhat happens
First renewal charge failsYou receive a payment-failure email. The second attempt is scheduled 3 days later.
Second attempt failsYou receive a reminder that the next attempt is final. The third attempt is scheduled 5 days after the second failure.
Payment succeeds before the final downgradeThe original renewal is paid, subsequent retries stop and the subscription continues on its original billing schedule.
Third attempt failsThe paid subscription ends and the account is downgraded to Free. You receive a downgrade notification.

These intervals are NodeReal's current configurable billing settings, not a separate timer. Check Billing and payment emails for your actual scheduled attempts.

The retry period is a time allowance to resolve payment. It does not add a CU buffer, credit line or unlimited usage. CU limits and usable paid packs continue to follow the account's normal usage rules. Monthly CU resets and failed add-on purchases do not start a renewal retry period.

If I pay during the retry period, does the month restart?

No. You pay the full original month's renewal charge; the billing month does not restart on the payment date.

For example, if the 1 November renewal fails and you complete payment on 7 November before downgrade, you pay the full November renewal. The next monthly renewal remains 1 December. The same monthly CU allowance is not issued twice.

What if my account has already been downgraded to Free?

Select a plan in Billing and purchase a new subscription. Paying an old invoice from the ended subscription does not restore the former plan. If an old payment is collected after downgrade, contact support so the payment can be checked.

Cancel renewal

Cancel subscription renewal in Billing. Paid benefits continue until the paid-through date; cancellation does not itself refund completed payments.

Cancelling subscription renewal does not itself turn off CU Auto Scaling. Review Auto Scaling separately in Account if you also want to stop automatic CU purchases. Check future Burst reservations: they require an active eligible Enterprise subscription during their scheduled windows.
