CUPS Burst Packs

Reserve temporary additional CUPS for a selected Enterprise API key.

A CUPS Burst Pack adds temporary throughput to one selected Enterprise API key. Other keys keep their own limits. A Burst does not add CU or change your recurring CU price.

Schedule a Burst

  1. Open the CUPS capacity purchase option for your Enterprise account.
  2. Select the API key and review its current Base CUPS.
  3. Choose an increment: +10K, +25K or +50K CUPS.
  4. Choose Hour, Day or Week and the quantity. The minimum unit is one hour.
  5. Set the start date, time and time zone. The end time is calculated from the duration.
  6. Review the selected key, added capacity, start/end times and total price, then pay.

Availability is checked before purchase. The reservation is confirmed only after both payment and capacity reservation succeed. Identify the selected key by its name and masked identifier; never share the full API key when contacting support.

You can schedule a Burst for a future subscription period. A reservation does not renew your Enterprise subscription. Keep an eligible Enterprise plan active for the scheduled window.

Price

Price = additional CUPS ÷ 1,000 × reserved hours × $0.275.

Calculate the full amount, then round the final charge to two decimal places. A day is 24 hours and a week is 168 hours. Subscription-term discounts do not apply.

Increment on one key1 hour24 hours168 hours
+10K CUPS$2.75$66$462
+25K CUPS$6.88$165$1,155
+50K CUPS$13.75$330$2,310

For example, a key with 25K Base CUPS and a +50K Burst has 75K CUPS during the reserved window. A 24-hour reservation costs 50 × 24 × $0.275 = $330.

Overlapping Bursts and plan changes

Effective CUPS = the key's current Base CUPS + all active Burst increments on that key.

Multiple Bursts can overlap, subject to available capacity. Each keeps its own increment and start/end times. When one expires, only that increment is removed.

If your Base CUPS changes, the Burst adds to the new base limit. Its price and reservation window do not change. For example, a +25K Burst on a 10K base gives 35K CUPS; after a base upgrade to 25K, it gives 50K CUPS until the Burst ends.

Subscription and key availability

A Burst does not keep an expired Enterprise subscription active. If service becomes unavailable because the subscription ends or payment retries are exhausted, the reservation window continues to run. It does not automatically extend or generate a refund for non-payment. Review future reservations before cancelling renewal or changing to a non-Enterprise plan.

You can disable or revoke a compromised key immediately, including a key with a paid Burst. Existing reservations are not automatically transferred to another key. Contact support about the affected reservation.

Changes, cancellation and delivery issues

Self-service changes, cancellation and refunds are not available for purchased Burst reservations. Check the key and time zone carefully before payment. Contact [email protected] for exceptional requests.

If payment is collected but NodeReal cannot confirm or deliver the reservation, contact support with the order details. Undelivered capacity caused by NodeReal is eligible for a refund; support will confirm the affected period and refund amount.
